ChatGPT and its plugins: Unleashing the power of conversational AI

The latest version of ChatGPT, known as ChatGPT-4has introduced a number of significant improvements to the AI's ability to interact more effectively and usefully.

One of the most exciting additions are the pluginsThe ChatGPT-4 is a new, more accurate and up to date information and specialised tasks.

We are testing the different ChatGPT plugins and, with this content, we want to tell you first-hand what our opinion is and what our experience with them has been.

This content is intended to be a bank of first level testing for ChatGPT4 and its plugins.

In any case, I can tell you that the AI is here to stay and if, in addition, you can use it with these complements, it makes it a more than interesting tool.

Here we go.

What are ChatGPT-4 Plugins and what are they used for?

The plugins are additional modules that can be integrated into ChatGPT-4. to improve its functionality.

These plugins can perform a variety of tasks, from search for information on the Internet to rewriting sentences and generating visual diagrams.

Yes, searching for information on the internet! You read that right, ChatGPT 4 can currently connect to the internet via Bing and via KeyMate.IA.search (beware that the latter connects to Google).

This means that there is no longer any excuse for using this real-time tool.

And now, we are going to tell you about some of the ChatGPT4 plugins we have tested.

1. Bing web browsing plugin

The first thing you have to do is select Bing within ChatGPT.

This is probably the one you are most familiar with and it's a marvel (it's true that is in beta and that it gives errors, but this will not happen forever).

The plugin does what it promises, conducts Internet searches and generates responses based on the ChatGPT and Internet learning model, including that real time and up-to-date information are elements that are starting to be considered.

For example, we asked ChatGPT the following questions.

Who won the last elections in Madrid and when?

And this is what he replied:

ChatGPT's answer to the question: "Who won the elections this year in the Community of Madrid?"

Very interesting source, in this case, it was taken from El Mundo..

2. Internet Search Plugin ( KeyMate.IA.search )

This plugin allows ChatGPT-4 to search for information on the Internet. beyond their knowledge cut-off date.

You can generate a list of search queries and make multiple API calls to get updated search results.

For example, if a user asks about the latest news in technology or history, ChatGPT-4 can use this plugin to search and provide the latest information. or give us quotations.

I have tried telling ChatGPT the following:

Give me a summary of the French revolution, and give me the quotes with links as you see fit.

And this is what has come back to me:

screenshot of chatgpt to explain the internet search plugin. We asked him to give us a summary of the French revolution and he gave it to us with quotes

Yes, he has given us sources and and he has also given us the links. Logically, if you want to do a quality job, you have to check every link.

3. Plugin Prompt Perfect

This is one of my favourites, and I always have it active. That way, I learn at the same time as the plugin corrects prompts and fine-tunes them..

This plugin is activated when a user types "perfect". prior to their input. Prompt Perfect' then evaluates the user's input and, if necessary, transforms it into a clearer, more specific and contextual prompt.

For example, I have asked you on this occasion to ask us to give a text for the blog in which he tells us what this plugin is for.

As you can see, the bug itself analyses it and gives ChatGPT another command to improve their quality of response.

It is simply indispensable.

4. Plugin Show Me (show_me)

This plugin allows ChatGPT-4 to generate visual diagrams to explain concepts or processes. For example, if a user asks for a visual explanation of how a car engine works, ChatGPT-4 can use this plugin to generate a diagram illustrating the process.

Or, for example, if we want to explain to a customer how an email marketing tool journey worksShow Me paints it for us.

Also, if you are not convinced, you can edit it in their own tool.

I love it.

5. Plugin Speak

In today's digital age, learning a new language is more accessible than ever.

With a variety of tools and resources available online, anyone can start learning a new language from anywhere in the world.

I love this plugin because it doesn't stop at simple translation.

Speak also provides detailed explanations of the use and context of the words and phrases, helping users to understand not only what to say, but also how and when to say it.

Therefore, if you want, in addition to translating, to understand what is not said, which is almost always the most important thing, it is a very helpful complement.

In short, what can this translation plugin do?

  1. TranslateWhen the user provides a specific phrase or word for translation, Speak translates it into the desired language and provides a detailed explanation of its usage.
  2. Explain a sentenceWhen the user provides a phrase in a foreign language and asks for an explanation, Speak provides the meaning and usage of the phrase.
  3. Explaining a taskWhen the user asks for advice on how to say or do something in a foreign language, but does not provide a specific phrase or word to translate, Speak provides a detailed explanation of how to perform the task in the desired language.

As an example, it I have asked you to tell me how to say "hello" in 10 different languages.s and, although it is a basic question, I think you have solved it very well.

example of chatgpt's response when asked how to say "hello" in different languages. It looks like an explanation of tones and alternatives depending on the formality with which you want to use it.

How to install ChatGPT plugins?

Installing plugins on ChatGPT is a process that can vary depending on the specific plugin you wish to install. However, here is a general guide to the steps you might follow:

  1. Identify the pluginThe first step is to identify the plugin you want to install. You can search the official OpenAI documentation or third-party repositories to find plugins that suit your needs.
  2. Download the pluginOnce you have identified the plugin, the next step is to download it. This usually involves cloning the plugin repository on your local machine or downloading a ZIP file of the source code.
  3. Install the pluginPlugin installation may vary depending on the specific plugin. Some plugins may require you to run an installation script, while others may require you to manually move the plugin files to a specific location.
  4. Configure the pluginAfter installing the plugin, you may need to do some additional configuration. This may include setting environment variables, modifying configuration files, or entering API keys.
  5. Verify the installationFinally, you should verify that the plugin has been installed correctly and is working as expected. This may involve running a specific command, checking the application logs, or simply using the functionality the plugin provides to make sure everything is working correctly.

In general, it is quite straightforward, but I recommend that you read the specific documentation before making a mess of things.

Are there specific plugins for certain industries or applications in ChatGPT?

ChatGPT, developed by OpenAI, is a model language incredibly versatile which is used in a wide range of applications, from chat assistants to content generators, and the answer to this question is a resounding yes.

For example, there are plugins that focus on SEO tasksThe new digital marketing tools are perfect for digital marketers, as is our case, but it doesn't end there (SEO Assistant).

Other plugins can help generate code in different programming languagesThis can be useful for software developers. (Code Runner).

For example, in the health sectorThere are also plugins that help to understand and generate text using medical terminology.

In the financial sector, on the other hand, there are already plugins that allow the ChatGPT interpret and generate financial reports (Statis Fund Finance).

In the academia there are plugins that search for information in texts that are written at the university level (ScholarAI)

And many more.

My intention with this post is to try them all out and let you know how they go. our experience.
