7 SEO extensions for your browser

The SEO extensions are an important aid for our organic positioning work. They allow us to take a comprehensive look at different elements (links, metadata, etc.) at a glance, saving us time.

Often, if we don't have the capacity to pay for a SEO tool complete type Ahrefs, Sistrix o SEMrushcan make it possible to make a SEO work decent if we find the right combination of extensions.

This is important because the number of extensions that we include is going to slowing down performance of your browser. So, although you can find dozens of extensions, my recommendation is that you only install the necessary ones.

You may need to try more, but if you find that another one does the same or works better, keep the other one and discard the new one.

For the same reason I have made a list with only 7 extensions that offer different functionalities and that complement each other. I have omitted some of them, such as AhrefsI understand that if you have contracted the tool you will have the same data there as in the extension and you won't need this article.

1. SEO Meta in 1 click

SEO Meta in 1 Click

SEO Meta in 1 click I find it one of the most useful and easy to use. Just click on the extension in the browser bar and it will give you the basic SEO information of the page you are on.

You will be able to see its SEO Title, its meta-description, the images (whether they have ALT text or not), the number of links, the different headings, the insertion of tags, and the number of links. Open Graphdata on the sitemap and about robots.TXT.

It's a very fast tool. You only need two or three seconds to get this data for a particular page, which is much faster than if you go to a paid tool to analyse it.

Other similar tools include SeoQuake, SEO analysis and website evaluation by WooRank, Detailed SEO Extension o SEO Checker Tool.

In this category there are many similar extensions that do the same thing. Look for the one that works best for you and the one you like the most aesthetically, they are practically all the same.

2. Search Simulator by Nightwatch

If we do International SEOanother of the SEO extensions essential is Search Simulator by Nightwatch. If we only do SEO in Spain, we can move on to the next one.

In this case, it is a location search simulator. If we want to see the SERP for a particular keyword in a particular place, this is the way to do it.

For example, if we have a client located in the United States and we want to see how a keyword we are interested in is positioned there, we can see it in a moment with the application.

A simple way to check what is our SEO competence in different markets. As in other cases, this is easily verifiable in tools such as SEMrush o AhrefsThis extension offers agility and an alternative if we don't have them.

3. Keywords everywhere

If you do not know where to find your keywordsWith this extension you will be able to find them everywhere. Keywords everywhere It's not only useful for Google, but you can also use it to find your keywords to work on the SEO on YouTube or the SEO on Amazon.

It even helps you with the hashtags for your SEO on Instagram and trends in Pinterest!

As far as Google is concerned, we will be able to view similar and related keywordsThe keyword is also available in the search engine, with monthly search volumes, competition data and even a graph to see what the trend of the keyword has been in the last few months.

It is a very useful tool to make our work more efficient. keyword research if we do not have a paid tool, which in this case will be more convenient. The extension can also be paid for in order to have a greater depth of data.

Another similar tool is Keyword Surfer.

4. Free Backlink Checker by LRT

Free Backlink Checker is one of my favourites. Actually, I have to say that rather than the extension, I use a web tool with a similar name, Free Broken Link CheckerI find it very useful to check my clients' websites on a regular basis.

The extension cheats a bit in the name, because it doesn't really have anything to do with the backlinks or inbound links, but with outbound links. That is to say, analyses all the links on a page that go to another pageeither internally within the domain or externally.

If you want to know one of our SEO success stories, we recommend you to visit here: how to do SEO for a travel agency?

The way it works is simple, when you are on a given page, it will mark broken links in red and working links in green. You can also export all the links on a page with different data: anchor textHTTP status and attribute rel to an Excel sheet.

This makes sense when you need to check that a specific page is correct. If you want to analyse a domain, it makes more sense to use a web tool such as Free Broken Link Checkerwhere you can get a list of all the links that have errors.

That is, with this extension you will see all the links on a page, whether they are good or bad, with the good ones in green and the bad ones in red. If you want to see only those that give error, use Free Broken Link Checker in your browser or a paid auditing tool like Screaming Frog.

Another similar tool is Check my links.

5. Hunter

This extension is not strictly SEObut I felt it necessary to include it in this list. Hunter has only one very well-defined function: it gives you the administration emails for a website.

You won't have to spend time searching or filling in contact forms to get in touch with the people in charge of managing the website.

What is this for in SEO? Basically, to work on our linkbuilding strategy. If we don't want to buy links on specialised portals because we fear that they will discover our strategy as a Black Hat SEOWe can try to reach agreements with webmasters who are not part of these commercial circuits.

Although it is a free extension, to access advanced functionalities, we have to pay.

Other similar tools include Email Finder by Snov.io o Email Hunter.

6. OpenLink Structured Data Sniffer

You will only need this extension and the next one if you take care of the Technical SEO. With OpenLink Structured Data Sniffer you will be able to see the structured data of any web page by simply clicking on the extension.

It is one of the SEO extensions more interesting if we are working on structured data or want to check the level of depth of the competitor's work.

The tool supports Microdata, RDFa, JSON-LD, RDF-Turtle, RDF-XML, CSV and JSON and can be used in other browsers such as Edge or Opera, not just Chrome.

This is also a basic tool for checking that the structured data work is correct.

Another similar tool is Rich Results - Structured Data Test Plugin.

7. Tag Assistant Legacy (by Google)

Finally, here is another basic one, not only for the SEO but for all your digital marketing strategy. It is about Tag Assistant Legacy (by Google).

With this extension, exclusive to Google ChromeIn this way, we will be able to see if the tags of our website are well implemented. Specifically, we will be able to check the tagging of:

  • Google Analytics
  • Google Tag Manager
  • Google AdWords Conversion Tracking
  • Remarketing
  • Floodlight

We will not only see if the labels exist, but also if there are any errors and how to fix any problems that may have arisen.

In this case, problems are identified with four colours, the traditional traffic light colours we see in many applications, plugins and extensions and one more: blue.

In this case, green indicates that the label is correct. Blue, on the other hand, indicates a correct implementation with room for improvement. Yellow indicates non-critical problems, while serious errors will appear in red.

The correct functioning of this labelling is essential for the rest, otherwise data may not be collected in the right way.

As I mentioned at the beginning, these seven extensions are just an example with different functionalities, but the number of SEO extensions The existing market is far superior, with new options appearing virtually every month.

In the end, it's a matter of trying them out and keeping those that allow us to do our work more easily, which is what it's all about.
